Is UCLan a big university? The University of Central Lancashire (Commonly referred to as UCLan) is one of the largest universities in the UK. UCLan currently has a community of staff and students in the region of 38,000.
 

UCLan delivers a portfolio of over 350 undergraduate courses, all designed to satisfy industry needs, making them employment-focused courses and offering more than 200 postgraduate courses and a diverse portfolio of CPD (Continued Professional Development) courses.
 

How many campuses does UCLan have?
UCLan comprises four campuses, with the main campuses located within the heart of the city of Preston.
 

UCLan also has campuses in Burnley, Westlakes and Cyprus.
 

The Preston campus comprises of 3 main areas: St Peter's Gardens, Foster Square and University Square
 

The Burnley campus also comprises three sites; the iconic, grade two listed Victoria Mill and Sandygate Mill, both located within the Weavers Triangle area. The Princess Way site is shared with Burnley College.

The University of Central Lancashire is the largest higher education provider of forensic science courses globally. UCLan is at the forefront of developing and delivering courses in various emerging disciplines, from forensic science to fashion.

Not wanting to rest on its laurels, UCLan has recently added dentistry and undergraduate medicine to its portfolio of courses. These courses are delivered in the newest Medical School in the UK.

Along similar lines are the Gold Studios which have a partition wall between the living/kitchen area and the sleeping/washing area, allowing the space to be used to its full potential. 
 

The Silver Studio is a more compact option for accommodation but still has kitchen facilities as well as room for a small seating and dining area and the all-important study desk & chair. 
 

An En-Suite room is another accommodation option for students studying at UCLan, providing a desk and wardrobe as well as a queen size bed in the bedroom area and a shower room for the washing area.

The spacious entertaining kitchen is available for any resident who wishes to host a party for friends, family or visitors from home. There is also a guest room which is available to rent out on a per night basis if you do have out of town guests. 

The well-equipped study room is available for individual or group study. 
 

Why not take one of your own movies to the on-site cinema or borrow from the selection available at reception, then relax on one of the comfy recliner chairs or sofas and enjoy. 

A fully functional launderette is also available with coin operated washing machines and tumble dryers, and as a big surprise, a retro arcade is also on site.
 

There is paid parking available which can be booked in advance and paid for the academic year or year-round. The car park is secure as access is controlled electronically and there are also cycle shelters and racks provided for no fee.

Your accommodation fee covers utilities as well as rent, and there is nothing additional to pay for essential services, just for some optional extras you may require as listed. There is an on-site security team as well as extensive CCTV coverage. Common areas of the building are cleaned, but students are responsible for cleaning their own accommodation and the launderette is available for washing clothes and bedding.
